Newton Nissan Gives

Newton Nissan is committed to the community that surrounds it. From work with Mustard Seed Communities to giving oil changes to local fundraising auctions, we are always looking for ways to give back. One of the organizations that reached out to us last year for sponsorship opportunities was Gallatin Shalom Zone. This wonderful organization, right here in Gallatin, is dedicated to improving our community by engaging Sumner County residents “in the work of healing, peace, reconciliation, justice, and love.”

Towards this end, Gallatin Shalom Zone has transformed a former high school (Union High School), into the Union High Resource Center. This centralized location serves our community as a meeting place for individuals as well as organizations to foster positive and healthy community development. Through programs such as ESL, after school tutoring, camps, and more, the center promotes a safe, healthy, and happy environment for kids and adults alike.  In time, their goals are to see more children graduate high school and for our families to grow stronger.

This year, Newton Nissan joined their mission in sponsoring their 8th Annual Tribute Dinner, which seeks to honor with awards members in our community who are making a difference. Three awards are given at this dinner: The Heritage Award, The Leimentoll/Martin Humanitarian Award, and The Hal Hooper Philanthropy Award.

The Heritage Award will be presented to First Baptist Winchester. This award is given to a group or organization who are involved in the community in the spirit of the Shalom; First Baptist will receive this award for long-term, outstanding, and dedicated involvement in the community.

The Leimentoll/Martin Humanitarian Award will be presented to Bill Puryear. This award recognizes character, strength, and unwavering integrity and compassion. Bill will receive this award for his steadfast involvement in many schools, organizations, churches, and individuals’ lives.

The Hal Hooper Philanthropy Award will be presented to R.C.O. Holding Company/R.C. Owen III. This award showcases those whose donations have improved the community with sustainable change. R.C.O. Holding Company/R.C. Owen III receives this award for years of support given to the community by the company and past president.

You can still get involved and join them for this special tribute dinner on Thursday, March 15. Reservations are required. Contact the Shalom office at 615-442-7575 to reserve your seat! Tickets are $50/each; $400/table of 8.

We hope that together we can celebrate the work of Gallatin Shalom Zone and improve our community, one life at a time.

Introducing: the 2018 Nissan Leaf

By krosenbaum | Posted in 2018, Buying a New Car, Nissan Leaf, Nissan News on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at 9:00 AM

2018 Nissan Leaf

The all-new 2018 Nissan Leaf is here, and it’s beautiful. Redesigned for greater range and power, it still remains the #1 affordable electric car in the world. This year, the list of new technologies is staggering. But it is all to improve the driver’s overall experience. Keep reading for more information!

Increased Range & Power

This begins with the range: the 2018 Nissan Leaf tops out at 150 miles! This is about 30 miles more than last year’s model. Also improved from last year is the horsepower–now at 147, a 38% increase and the torque at 236 lb/ft, which is a 26% increase. For those who (like me) need that put simply: the acceleration will feel smoother and more agile. The battery has also improved; without changing in size, it houses 67% more energy–to keep you on the road longer.

Redefined Style

Beyond the percentages, though, is redefined style. The exterior has been improved for both aerodynamics as well as appeal. It reflects the forward-progress attitude that Nissan has towards always improving this popular vehicle. Additionally, the signature V-Motion grille present on almost every vehicle in the Nissan lineup has been added this year to the leaf, showing a strong brand-alliance. This classic look is updated for the Leaf with the signature blue accent pattern (seen below).2018 Nissan Leaf

Smart Interior

On the inside, the “cool tech attitude” that the exterior sculpts comes alive. From the 7-inch full color display housing Navigation, Apple/Android connectivity, and a rear-view camera, to the smart gauges in the driver’s display taking the guesswork out of range–the Leaf has all the technology a driver needs. But Nissan didn’t stop there; they gave the 2018 Nissan Leaf the most intelligent driving features available.

2018 Nissan Leaf

The Leaf offers ProPilot Assist, which is a fairly new product that can help drivers stay in their lane, maintain an appropriate distance between cars, keep the vehicle centered in the lane, and stay moving or stopped as traffic dictates. In addition, standard on all trim levels is the e-Pedal. This is one pedal by which the driver can accelerate, brake, and stop. Simply release the pedal, and the Leaf will come to a complete stop without any need to press the pedal again. In rougher traffic, however, the traditional brake-only pedal is still available for drivers to use.

2018 Nissan Kicks

In 2018, Nissan has announced its first brand-new model in 8-years: the 2018 Nissan Kicks. Joining the Rogue & Rogue sport as a compact crossover, it will be coming to a Nissan showroom near you beginning in 2018.

Keeping the Crossover Cool

The compact crossover is the fastest growing section in car sales, and is also the most affordable. The 2018 Nissan Kicks will join the ranks with a bold style, with recognizable Nissan standouts: the V-motion grille and floating roof, as well as new two-tone color options. The exterior was designed for aerodynamic ability, which estimates its combined MPG at 33. With three different trims available (S, SV, SR), each at affordable prices, the Kicks is sure to turn heads.

Keeping Standard Features, well, Standard

The Kicks will will feature an all-around-view monitor, which is a newer addition to the Nissan lineup. This feature gives the driver a 360-degree view of the area around the vehicle, helpful especially for parking and driving in small spaces. If you get too close to an object on any side, front, or back, there will be an on-screen warning to alert you. Also standard will be these other top safety features:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning,
  • Automatic Emergency Braking, and
  • Blind Spot Warning.

A Smart & Stylish Interior

On the inside, the Kicks will feature the smart technology that Nissan is quickly becoming known for. This includes a 7.0-inch color display with features such as smartphone connectivity (ApplePlay and AndroidAuto) and the all-around view monitor. Also available is a premium Bose sound system. Behind the wheel, the driver will control which features they would like to see–including MPG numbers, playlist/music information, etc.

2018 Nissan Armada

2018 Nissan Armada

Nissan’s flagship SUV is designed for family adventures and fun, and has set the bar high for the competition. Each month in 2017, its sales have continued to exceed its sales projections. But for 2018, the bar just got set higher, with new standard features on all models, continued improved horsepower and towing, and–for the first time–an available new feature: Intelligent Rear View Mirror. Continue reading to see if the 2018 Nissan Armada is the right SUV for you!

New Standards Set

For the 2018 model year, formerly premium upgrades are now standard: including NissanConnect, Sirius XM Radio, an 8-in touch display screen, enhanced voice-recognition services, and extra USB ports for connectivity and charging on the go. In addition, the Armada set best-in-class horsepower among its rivals with its 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 and 7-speed automatic transmission.

New Intelligent Features

Nissan has been an industry leader in its development and implementation of safety features, including these frontrunners:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Intelligent Around View® Monitor

These work together to help drivers stay more alert, informed, and protected while driving. The addition of the Intelligent Rear View Mirror is the first of its kind. This is especially helpful if the seats (8 in total!) are full, or if cargo is blocking the mirror. Jaci’s Favorite Things: the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

By krosenbaum | Posted in Buying a New Car, Cars for Sale in Nashville, Newton Nissan, Nissan, Nissan News on Monday, November 20th, 2017 at 9:00 AM
2017 Nissan Pathfinder

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Newly-minted Dove-award winning artist Jaci Velasquez recently took the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum for a month-long test drive! It was her first time to drive a Nissan, and she was impressed by the many features that made her life as a busy mom easier. Read on to find out more of her favorite features!

A Smarter Back-Up Camera

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Many makes & models now feature rear-view or back-up cameras to help assist drivers; however, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder has a special upgrade.  Instead of simply having the camera at the back, Nissan added both more cameras with the available Around View monitoring system, as well as the Moving Object Detection system. The combination of the two means you can back up your car seeing all of your surroundings: front, back, and side. You can even be alerted to objects that you cannot see!

Family Entertainment Package

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

This might have been Jaci’s favorite feature! With the available Family Entertainment Package, you can let your kids in the back watch 2 different movies–at the same time! Think of how much easier family road trips could go. In addition to the two screens in the back, there is one up front, which houses available navigation and Bluetooth. This front screen will also play the selected DVD if the car is in park! Finally, staying connected is easy–with multiple ports for USB, AUX, and even one HDMI.

Hands-Free Liftgate

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

We’ve all been there: hands full of groceries or equipment, keys stuck in a bag, staring at the rear gate of our car, wondering how to open it. With this vehicle though, you don’t have to worry: simply wave your foot underneath the bumper of your Pathfinder (SL and Platinum). And, automatically, the lift gate will beep and rise!

Simple, luxurious, and easy to use–these three words define the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder experience. Jaci got to experience it for herself, and so can you!

Come see us at Newton Nissan, and find your Pathfinder today!

A huge thank you to Jaci for her review! Watch her full video here!

Newton Nissan Gives: Mustard Seed Communities Update

By krosenbaum | Posted in Newton Gives, Newton Nissan, Nissan News, Staff on Monday, November 13th, 2017 at 9:00 AM
Newton Nissan Gives

A few months ago, we told a story, about how “Newton Nissan gives” is a major part of our DNA here. We strive to be a part of our communities, not just a place for customers. And this is not limited to Middle Tennessee; for seven years now, we have partnered with Mustard Seed Communities: an international organization dedicated to helping children around the world. Our partnership began through our founder’s wife, Mrs. Terry Newton, going on one of their trips, and has led to more employees going with them. Every year, we partner with them for their annual Dare to Care Fundraiser. October 7th, 2017 marked its 13th year, and the Newtons hosted it in Atlanta.

And we’re so happy to announce that this event raised

over $200,000 for abandoned & disabled children.

It’s amazing what happens when communities from near and far come together for an important cause! Newton Motor Group once again proudly donated a vehicle to auction off. It is always an honor for us to give back in this way.

Newton Nissan Gives

What’s the impact?

Mustard Seed Communities holistically meets the needs of children with disabilities who have been abandoned or neglected. They strive to meet physical needs, as well as spiritual and emotional ones. The money raised from this event goes directly to make sure that these children, though once abandoned, are never abandoned again.

Some Very Special Guests

Some of our very own staff members and their families attended the event last month, including Mike Abbandonza, pictured below with Bill Newton. Mike Castro, from our South location in Shelbyville, came with his wife also.

In addition, some of the very men who help run the day-to-day activities of these communities attended. Monsignor Gregory Ramkissoon (below right), founder of Mustard Seed Communities, and Father Garvin Augustine (left), Executive Director of MS International both attended. Here they are with Terry Newton, who chairs this event every year. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Mustard Seed USA.

The Best of the Best: 2017 Nissan Global Award Winners

By krosenbaum | Posted in Newton Nissan, Nissan, Nissan News on Monday, November 6th, 2017 at 9:00 AM
Newton Nissan

Here at Newton Nissan, we don’t say we’re #1…unless we are.

And we’ve been named the #1 Nissan Dealership in America by DealerRater in 2016 & 2017. Today, we are proud to announce that we are recipients of the 2017 Nissan Global Award. This award is given to the “best of the best”–the top 50 Nissan Dealerships worldwide, based on volume of sales for 2016.

However, that’s not what this award–what any award–is ultimately about for us. We don’t want to be the best of the best because of sales, but because of our relationships: on our team, in our community, and with our customers. We support our staff by making the workplace positive. And, we link arms with our community by hosting car giveaways, holiday drives, and fun events like Trunk or Treat.Newton Nissan

Finally, day in and day out, we strive to meet our customers where they are and get to know them personally, as well as to get them in the best car for them and their family.

But don’t just take our word for it! Look at what our one of our customers recently said:Newton Nissan

Thank you for trusting us at Newton Nissan with your car needs as well as your personal concerns. We are happy to serve you in whatever way we can.

YOU make us the best of the best!

That’s a Wrap! Trunk or Treat 2017

By krosenbaum | Posted in Nashville Events, Newton Gives, Newton Nissan, Nissan News, Our Customers on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 at 11:36 AM

Trunk or Treat

We love Trunk or Treat!

Trunk or Treat is easily our favorite day of the year, because we here at Newton Nissan love getting to see our community. It’s also an important day for us, because it is a day that we promote the community we are in. This year, the Gallatin High School Band helped us decorate 40 trunks that we filled with enough candy for all the afternoon’s visitors! In return, we donated funds that will help them continue to develop their program!Trunk or Treat

Battling the freezing temperatures, the band’s trunks showed up early and began decorating their cars, trucks, and SUVs into spooky entrances, fun characters, and pop culture references, such as Jurassic Park and Star Trek. We brought in fun bouncy houses and euro bungees for the kids to enjoy for a few hours! The cold weather would not keep us from having fun with our community.

So, why do we do this?

Because we here at Newton Nissan believe that our community is more valuable than our bottom line. And to show this, we simply want to be a part of our customer’s lives. Trunk or Treat is one of those days when that becomes a reality, a day that allows us to host a fun event, get to know our community, and to give back. Ultimately, we hope that this community relationship extends from fun events into the daily interactions we have with every person that walks through our doors!

Trunk or Treat

Thank you for being a part of our community!

We hope to see you next year at Trunk or Treat 2018!
