Fall…the season of sweaters, pumpkin flavored everything, and football. And, this October, Fun Nashville Events abound!

Just a few weeks ago, the first day of fall was upon us. The weather seems to be cooperating now that October has begun. It has been a beautiful first couple of weeks of the season, don’t you think? Fun Nashville Events: Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat 2017

By krosenbaum | Posted in Nashville Events, Nissan News on Monday, September 25th, 2017 at 10:00 AM

Here at Newton Nissan, we pride ourselves on our involvement in the community. It is very important to us to know our customers and their families as more than numbers or sales, but as neighbors, friends, and family. For this reason, we have many different events to do this, including Spirit Nights, a Nissan Factory tour, and our car giveaway for high school students. But by far, the most fun event we love to host for the community is our annual Trunk or Treat!

Each year, we shut down our dealership and host thousands from our community for fun, games, food, and, of course, candy! It is always a fun time for kids and adults alike to enjoy celebrating together. Cars, as well as children & adults, are dressed up in fun costumes, and a good evening is always had by all.

Come to our Trunk or Treat here at Newton Nissan!

Where: 1461 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN

When: 3-5 PM

Details: Everything is free! Come dressed and ready to have fun! Rain or shine!

This year, we hope we can join us at this family-friendly event for all ages! We’ll serve pizza, have euro bungees, and much more!

Newton Nissan Gives: Mustard Seed Communities

By krosenbaum | Posted in Newton Gives, Nissan News, Staff on Monday, September 11th, 2017 at 10:02 AM

Newton Nissan is made up of people who genuinely care about their communities as well as their customers. And that caring spirit extends straight from the top: our owner, Bill Newton, and his wife, Terry. In 2003, Terry went on her first mission trip to Nicaragua. While there, she fell in love with a little boy named Joey, whom she and Bill later adopted. This trip was the beginning of a now well-established relationship the Newtons have with a non-profit called Mustard Seed Communities.

“Once abandoned, never abandoned again.”

Mustard Seed began as a residential home in Kingston, Jamaica, and now is established in 5 countries: Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. They are committed to caring for the most defenseless populations of societies. This includes those suffering with social and/or developmental disabilities, as well those with HIV/AIDS.  Even as they have expanded and grown, their foundation remains the same: “Once abandoned, never abandoned again.” Each community cares for residents’ physical, mental, and spiritual needs for as long as needed.

Taking Newton Nissan to Jamaica

Bill and Terry both have led numerous trips to these homes, and they have taken their family as well as staff from Newton Nissan, including owner Mike Abbondanza and his wife, Karen, and co-owner and General Manager at Newton Nissan South, Mike Castro along with his wife, Regina.

When Terry returned from that first trip, she and a group of ladies began a fundraiser called Dare to Care to raise money for Mustard Seed Communities. “The needs are enormous and continue to grow daily. Because our residents are disabled, we require more staff members to care for these fragile children. This, along with food, medicines, diapers, etc, adds up to huge expenses,” Terry says. Dare to Care has grown into a large annual event that brings in $150,000, with over 200 attendees, hosted by Bill and Terry Newton in Atlanta, GA.

For 7 years now, the Newton dealership has participated in this fundraiser by donating a new car to be raffled at the event.

This Week’s Used Cars Under $10K

By bharrison | Posted in Buying a Used Car, Cars for Sale in Nashville, Nissan News, Our Customers on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 at 6:46 PM

Cars under $10,000 are highly sought after for a number of reasons.  You may be shopping for a back-to-school vehicle, an inexpensive vehicle to commute to work, or a handy second car. Regardless of the reason, finding the best used cars under $10,000 can be more of a challenge than you may realize.

Traditionally, new car franchise dealers send older trades to auction; but due to high demand, our team has decided to make select vehicles available to the public before they are offered to auction.

This week, we have a great selection of vehicles for under $10k. Whether you’re looking for a truck to haul, a nice sedan, or a cheap SUV; we’ve got you covered.

Following are a few examples:

Gallatin Student Wins Free Car for Good Grades

By bharrison | Posted in Nashville Events, Nissan News, Our Customers on Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 4:47 PM

Ke’Shauntez Debow, a sophomore at Gallatin High School, won a brand new car tonight because of good grades. “I’m so surprised,” says Ke’Shauntez, “I never win anything… not even bingo in class!”.

The annual contest, hosted by Newton Motor Group’s two Nissan dealerships, is open to all students enrolled in a middle Tennessee high school. Since the program started in 2009, Newton Nissan has given away eight cars to students in the Nashville area.

The grand prize at each location was a 2017 Nissan Versa, valued at $15,370. “Newton Nissan pays for both the car and sales taxes, so the winning students don’t have to pay anything for their new cars,” says Mike Abbondanza, Newton Motor Group’s Vice President. Students enter the contest by bringing in their report card from the most recent school year. Students increase their chances of winning by making good grades, since they receive one entry per “A” on their report card.

Nashville’s very own News Channel 5’s Senior Meteorologist Lelan Statom helped to host the event, which also featured trivia for prizes before the giveaway. Statom captured the big moment for social media to see. Ke’Shauntez couldn’t hold back the shock and surprise of a brand new car!

What’s New: The 2017 Nissan Rogue

By Kelsey | Posted in Buying a New Car, Nissan News on Friday, March 31st, 2017 at 6:53 PM

Hi! My name is Collin, and here are a few highlights of the new 2017 Nissan Rogue.

It’s what’s on the outside that matters, right?

Compared to the 2016 Rogue, the 2017 Rogue looks more modern with some “edge” in its personality. That’s because this crossover SUV is styled with modern LED lights, it struts a new fascia design (“fascia” is a fancy automotive word that refers to the front components like the grill, bumper, etc.), and it has an all-new wheel design.

The inside matters, too.

Inside, you’re given a new flat-bottom steering wheel. Ok, I know what you’re thinking. What’s so important about a flat-bottom steering wheel? The answer is two-fold. The bottom of a normal steering wheel is, you guessed it, ROUND. By giving it a flat bottom, you gain more space for your legs, which gives you more comfort while driving and more ease while getting in/out. Plus, race cars tend to have flat-bottom steering wheels, so that automatically makes you cool. This leather-wrapped beauty of a steering wheel isn’t just loved for its looks. It’s also heated. Just press the button, and your icicle hands will get all warm and fuzzy (or maybe just the warm part).

This SUV has a 2-person memory driver’s seat and mirrors. That means you can customize and save the position of the seat and mirrors for you and another driver. You save your preferences by pushing the “set” button, and then “1” (for driver 1). The other driver in your family would save their settings by pushing “set” and then “2” (for driver 2). From then on, if someone changes your seats or mirrors, all you’d have to do is press your driver number to get everything back to normal.

My favorite part of the 2017 Nissan Rogue is the remote start option. When you’re within 200 feet of the vehicle (ie: inside your house), you can start it with your remote, allowing your AC/Heat to do it’s magic before you walk out of the house. Don’t worry, even though your car is “on” while you’re inside, the vehicle will remain locked (unless you choose to unlock it), and it can’t shift into gear without your intelligent key inside the car.

These are a few highlights of the 2017 Nissan Rogue. To see it in person, feel free to contact us for a test drive!

Nissan Dealer of the Year… again!

By Kelsey | Posted in Nissan News on Monday, January 30th, 2017 at 7:00 PM

Nissan Dealer of the Year

Most shoppers don’t have an affinity for car dealerships, but our Nashville dealership has proven that it is the exception to the rule. For the second year in a row, Newton Nissan has been named the #1 Nissan Dealership in America by shoppers on DealerRater.

“Car buyers have spoken and have identified Newton Nissan as the best Nissan dealer to do business with in the U.S,” said DealerRater CEO Gary Tucker. “The quality and number of reviews for Newton Nissan speak volumes of the top-notch experiences they provide to customers.”

Out of 1,080 Nissan dealerships in the United States, Newton Nissan’s PowerScores emerged at the top of the class. The PowerScore is determined using a Bayesian algorithm that factors the dealership’s average DealerRater consumer rating and the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2016 calendar year.

Founded in 2002, DealerRater, a Company, is the world’s leading car dealer review website that connects consumers with the right dealership. The 2017 Dealer of the Year awards were announced at the National Automobile Dealers Association Awards Ceremony on January 27th.

The annual awards are based on reviews by car shoppers and those who took their vehicles into dealerships for service. Reviewers evaluated Newton Nissan on its customer service, quality of work, friendliness, pricing and overall experience.

“This feels like a David and Goliath moment for us,” says Mike Abbondanza, the Vice President of Newton Nissan. “Most dealerships are owned by big corporations with lots of resources; but our team is small, local, and we put a lot of heart into everything we do.”

Our team has two award-winning Nissan locations on the outskirts of Nashville, and it recently added a Ford and General Motors dealership to its roster. Beyond the national recognition, our team is known for its community involvement like Trunk or Treat, and its annual car giveaway for high school students.
