ProPilot Assist

Nissan is known for its great vehicles & smart technology, because of the strong belief that smart technology can improve driver and passenger safety. A fairly new Nissan technology advancement is known as ProPilot Assist.

How does ProPilot Assist help drivers?

This technology works like a really smart cruise control, helping helps drivers using cruise control to:

  • stay in their lane,
  • maintain an appropriate distance between cars,
  • keep the vehicle centered in the lane, and
  • stay moving or stopped as traffic dictates.

It was first introduced on the 2018 Rogue. These features can be operated easily by simply pressing a blue button on the steering wheel. It is primarily intended to reduce driver fatigue on long stretches of travel. You must keep your hands on the steering wheel, but can relax them, as well as your feet, as the the vehicle does most of the heavy work for you!

How to use ProPilot Assist:

Some of our team made the following video to help you see ProPilot Assist in action. Check it out & come by and test drive a new Rogue today to see this feature in action yourself!

9th Annual Student Car Giveaway!

9th Annual Student Car Giveaway

Good Grades = Free Car

Madelyn Griffith won a brand new car last month because of her good grades at Merrol Hyde Magnet School in Hendersonville, TN. Her first words at the microphone were, “GO HAWKS!” to her classmates in the audience. She expressed that she was really grateful and shocked, saying, “I literally almost didn’t come, because I thought I wouldn’t win.” She and her sister were attending a large youth conference at Lipscomb, but they gave up a few hours of camp to come to the 9th Annual Student Car Giveaway at Newton Nissan in Gallatin, TN.

The two sisters and their parents were the very first of almost 100 families to enter the showroom, get a good look at the Nissan Versa, and enjoy free food and beverages while waiting for the big giveaway to begin. Her sister enjoyed playing some of the trivia that opened the event’s giveaways, and won some candy! They thought that’s the only thing they would leave with that night. Little did they know! After winning, Madelyn made sure her sister understood that, “This is MY car, not yours!”

Student Car Giveaway

About the Annual Student Car Giveaway

The annual Newton Nissan Car Giveaway event is open to all students enrolled in a Tennessee high school. Since the program started in 2009, Newton Nissan has given away ten cars to students in the Nashville area. Students enter the contest by bringing in their report card from the most recent school year. Students increase their chances of winning by making good grades, since they receive one entry per “A” on their report card.

About the Grand Prize

The grand prize was a 2018 Nissan Versa, valued at $15,330. “Newton Nissan pays for both the car and sales taxes, so Madelyn doesn’t have to pay anything for her new car,” says Mike Abbondanza, Newton Nissan’s Vice President. We at Newton Nissan are more than happy to give back to our community, particularly our students, in this way!

We hope to see you & your student next year at our 10th Annual Student Car Giveaway!

Get The Best Oil Change at Newton Nissan

By krosenbaum | Posted in Car Tips and Tricks, Newton Nissan, Service on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 at 11:10 AM

Oil Change

Here at Newton Nissan, we pride ourselves on the best customer service: before, during, and after the sale. For multiple years in a row, we’ve proven this through awards like the #1 Nissan Dealership in TN and the U.S., as well as consistent Consumer Satisfaction awards both locally and nationally. When it comes to service, we want to give you the best experience possible. From the moment you’re greeted to the moment you drive away. In between, we are thoroughly inspecting your vehicle as we take care of your oil change, balance your tires, and do necessary maintenance work and repairs. You’ve entrusted your vehicle to us, and we take that very seriously.

Which is why, in the coming days, you will see a slight increase to your bill – specifically for an oil change. That is because we are changing from regular oil to a fully synthetic oil for all our oil changes. We believe that this will be better for the vehicles we service in the long run, giving you more miles between changes and better protection for your engine.

Here’s 5 reasons why you’ll get the best oil change at Newton Nissan:

  1. Customer Service – we’re consistently rated 5-stars on sites like Google and DealerRater because we take care of our customers. That is our number one priority every time you come to see us.
  2. Synthetic Oil – This is a intensely refined oil, which removes more impurities. This gives your engine the best protection and better flow no matter the temperature or conditions.
  3. Longer HoursBeginning June 1st, we will be offering hours from 6 AM – 7 PM on Monday-Friday, and 6 AM – 4 PM on Saturdays. Before work, after work, on days off: we’ll be ready.
  4. Express Lane – For those busy mornings, we do offer an express lane with no appointment necessary. Get in, get out.
  5. Free Coffee & Snacks – Need we say more? Oh wait, yes: we also offer free WiFi and tablets for your convenience.

Schedule your next oil change with us today!

Newton Nissan Gives: Gallatin Day Care Center

By krosenbaum | Posted in Nashville Events, Newton Gives, Newton Nissan on Monday, April 9th, 2018 at 10:46 AM

One of Newton Nissan’s primary values is community involvement, and we are always looking to give back to our community, be it at home or across the world. This month, we are proud to introduce you to an important non-profit organization in our community: Gallatin Day Care Center. They have an Spaghetti Supper happening this month, that anyone is welcome to attend to help them raise funds to continue to improve the programs and services that they provide to children in the area. Check out the turnout for last year’s event (below), and keep reading to learn more about what they do for our community!

Gallatin Day Care Center

Who They Serve

The Gallatin Day Care Center is a special place that serves primarily low-income and foster children in our area. The children range from 12 months to 12 years old, and are often from at-risk situations at home. Sometimes, they are escaping situations of abuse or neglect at home by being enrolled in the program. The part-time as well full-time employees and teachers work together to make sure the children feel safe and loved when they are at the center. The children receive two meals and one snack during the day. The children also are instructed in different subjects and life-skills before entering school, or receive tutoring for their current classes, if they are in school.

Why They Serve

One factor in they way they run the center that they are very proud about is that they do not give a hand-out, they give a “hand-up.” In order to enroll their child, parents have to be either working or in school in order to qualify for child care. They also offer a sliding scale for parents who are having a harder time with finances. This enables parents the chance to continue their education and/or to earn income to support their families.

How You Can Help

Unlike most child care centers, the Gallatin Day Care Center receives no funding beyond what the United Way gives. Because of this, they are in desperate need for more donations to help make their services available to everyone that they can. There are only 20 staff for 100 children, but a lot of heart goes into their work. Linda, the director, summed up this heart perfectly: “No matter how good or bad my day was, I know that we made a difference, even with just a hug or extra food.”

You can make a difference too! Come to the Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction in a few weeks, have some good food and bid on some good gift baskets! All proceeds will benefit the Gallatin Day Care Center.

We hope you will join us as we celebrate this worthy organization and raise money together

to keep their work going strong!

Newton Nissan Gives: Gallatin Shalom Zone

Newton Nissan Gives

Newton Nissan Gives

Newton Nissan is committed to the community that surrounds it. From work with Mustard Seed Communities to giving oil changes to local fundraising auctions, we are always looking for ways to give back. One of the organizations that reached out to us last year for sponsorship opportunities was Gallatin Shalom Zone. This wonderful organization, right here in Gallatin, is dedicated to improving our community by engaging Sumner County residents “in the work of healing, peace, reconciliation, justice, and love.”

Towards this end, Gallatin Shalom Zone has transformed a former high school (Union High School), into the Union High Resource Center. This centralized location serves our community as a meeting place for individuals as well as organizations to foster positive and healthy community development. Through programs such as ESL, after school tutoring, camps, and more, the center promotes a safe, healthy, and happy environment for kids and adults alike.  In time, their goals are to see more children graduate high school and for our families to grow stronger.

This year, Newton Nissan joined their mission in sponsoring their 8th Annual Tribute Dinner, which seeks to honor with awards members in our community who are making a difference. Three awards are given at this dinner: The Heritage Award, The Leimentoll/Martin Humanitarian Award, and The Hal Hooper Philanthropy Award.

The Heritage Award will be presented to First Baptist Winchester. This award is given to a group or organization who are involved in the community in the spirit of the Shalom; First Baptist will receive this award for long-term, outstanding, and dedicated involvement in the community.

The Leimentoll/Martin Humanitarian Award will be presented to Bill Puryear. This award recognizes character, strength, and unwavering integrity and compassion. Bill will receive this award for his steadfast involvement in many schools, organizations, churches, and individuals’ lives.

The Hal Hooper Philanthropy Award will be presented to R.C.O. Holding Company/R.C. Owen III. This award showcases those whose donations have improved the community with sustainable change. R.C.O. Holding Company/R.C. Owen III receives this award for years of support given to the community by the company and past president.

You can still get involved and join them for this special tribute dinner on Thursday, March 15. Reservations are required. Contact the Shalom office at 615-442-7575 to reserve your seat! Tickets are $50/each; $400/table of 8.

We hope that together we can celebrate the work of Gallatin Shalom Zone and improve our community, one life at a time.
