The Nissan TITAN XD is the pinnacle of truck design. While the TITAN is itself impressive, the TITAN XD comes with a larger design, better towing and hauling capacities, and more heavy-duty capabilities. A favorite of truck drivers everywhere, the TITAN XD is also well-known for its striking exterior design. The 2019 TITAN XD is set to arrive soon, and Nissan has released several details to tell us a few of the things we might expect from this exceptional pickup.
The TITAN XD is expected to get a slightly reworked exterior design to set it apart from other vehicles on the road, including the light-duty TITAN. The XD will have a distinct grille design, a blunted hood, reshaped front fenders, and an added 14 inches in length. You can still expect optional LED lighting for visibility, and a variety of cabin and bed configurations lets you customize your truck. You’ll also find new colors, including Moab Sunset and Midnight Pine.
The TITAN XD will likely carry over the powertrain features from last year. The base engine is a 5.6-liter V8 with 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, while the optional 5.0-liter Cummins Turbo-Diesel V8 has a whopping 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. You can tow up to 12,640 pounds in the current model, with nearly 2,600 pounds of payload capacity. The tuned front suspension helps distribute the load, as well as the rear leaf springs and tube shocks.
The TITAN XD will also sport a larger touch-screen infotainment system — the new 7.0-inch smartphone compatible system that’s standard across trims. There’s also a new Fender® Premium Audio System available for those who especially love music, while the rear-seat alert system helps you keep track of the passengers before leaving. This system is set to be standard on all king-cab and crew-cab models.
