Gallatin’s Own Susan Superczynski & Children Are People Win Big In Conjunction With Newton Motor Group And Mustard Seed Communities

September 4th, 2020 by

On August 30, 2020, Mustard Seed Communities (MSC), an international non-profit ministry dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable in 5 different countries, held its annual Dare to Care event. This event seeks to fundraise to fund the budgets of taking care of over 600 children who are disabled and abandoned. This year has been particularly difficult due to the inability of these teams in Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, and Malawi from receiving mission teams–who typically bring supplies as well as time and energy–who raise money for MSC as well.

Newton Motor Group has long been partnered with MSC. Through donations, event partnerships, and even mission trips taken by many of our managers and owners. With the Dare to Care event, Newton Motor Group donates a brand new vehicle each year to raffle off through tickets purchased. This year, Mike Abbondanza, bought his raffle tickets in Susan Superczynski’s name, Children Are People’s Director of Operations. In 2019, Newton Nissan was connected with Children Are People by donating a new wrap on one of their buses used to transport kids to and from the center in Gallatin.

MSC’s Dare to Care event had to be quickly revised to an online format for 2020, hosting an online auction and donations portal to raise funds. A video was played throughout the event, showcasing not only what MSC does, but also the different sponsors involved in their endeavors. Newton Motor Group donated a brand-new Ford F-150 from our Ford store in Shelbyville, TN, to give away in the raffle.

When the winner was drawn, Susan Supercyznski was the grand-prize winner! Mike Abbondanza was proud to deliver the truck to Children Are People today. We are grateful for the impact that CAP makes for the Gallatin community, and were honored to present this truck to Susan to help continue their work. We look forward to continued partnership with Susan & her team.
