Community Spotlight: White House on Fire Rocktober Celebration

Monday, October 1st, 2018

Here at Newton Nissan, we love our community. We take in many different sponsorship applications and try to be a part of as many fundraising events as we can. We can’t help everyone, but we can make a difference in little ways all across our community. So when we heard about this year’s White House on Fire “Rocktober Celebration,” benefiting the Volunteer Fire Department in White House, we knew we wanted to help. This event has turned from a small idea that Brian Gamboa had to help the Fire Department, to a community-wide event that many other local businesses have also sponsored to help raise money.

ProPilot Assist: Nissan’s Smart Technology

Thursday, September 13th, 2018

ProPilot Assist

Nissan is known for its great vehicles & smart technology, because of the strong belief that smart technology can improve driver and passenger safety. A fairly new Nissan technology advancement is known as ProPilot Assist.

How does ProPilot Assist help drivers?

This technology works like a really smart cruise control, helping helps drivers using cruise control to:

  • stay in their lane,
  • maintain an appropriate distance between cars,
  • keep the vehicle centered in the lane, and
  • stay moving or stopped as traffic dictates.

It was first introduced on the 2018 Rogue. These features can be operated easily by simply pressing a blue button on the steering wheel. It is primarily intended to reduce driver fatigue on long stretches of travel. You must keep your hands on the steering wheel, but can relax them, as well as your feet, as the the vehicle does most of the heavy work for you!

How to use ProPilot Assist:

Some of our team made the following video to help you see ProPilot Assist in action. Check it out & come by and test drive a new Rogue today to see this feature in action yourself!

Introducing: the 2018 Nissan Leaf

Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

2018 Nissan Leaf

The all-new 2018 Nissan Leaf is here, and it’s beautiful. Redesigned for greater range and power, it still remains the #1 affordable electric car in the world. This year, the list of new technologies is staggering. But it is all to improve the driver’s overall experience. Keep reading for more information!

Increased Range & Power

This begins with the range: the 2018 Nissan Leaf tops out at 150 miles! This is about 30 miles more than last year’s model. Also improved from last year is the horsepower–now at 147, a 38% increase and the torque at 236 lb/ft, which is a 26% increase. For those who (like me) need that put simply: the acceleration will feel smoother and more agile. The battery has also improved; without changing in size, it houses 67% more energy–to keep you on the road longer.

Redefined Style

Beyond the percentages, though, is redefined style. The exterior has been improved for both aerodynamics as well as appeal. It reflects the forward-progress attitude that Nissan has towards always improving this popular vehicle. Additionally, the signature V-Motion grille present on almost every vehicle in the Nissan lineup has been added this year to the leaf, showing a strong brand-alliance. This classic look is updated for the Leaf with the signature blue accent pattern (seen below).2018 Nissan Leaf

Smart Interior

On the inside, the “cool tech attitude” that the exterior sculpts comes alive. From the 7-inch full color display housing Navigation, Apple/Android connectivity, and a rear-view camera, to the smart gauges in the driver’s display taking the guesswork out of range–the Leaf has all the technology a driver needs. But Nissan didn’t stop there; they gave the 2018 Nissan Leaf the most intelligent driving features available.

The Leaf offers ProPilot Assist, which is a fairly new product that can help drivers stay in their lane, maintain an appropriate distance between cars, keep the vehicle centered in the lane, and stay moving or stopped as traffic dictates. In addition, standard on all trim levels is the e-Pedal. This is one pedal by which the driver can accelerate, brake, and stop. Simply release the pedal, and the Leaf will come to a complete stop without any need to press the pedal again. In rougher traffic, however, the traditional brake-only pedal is still available for drivers to use.

2018 Nissan Kicks

In 2018, Nissan has announced its first brand-new model in 8-years: the 2018 Nissan Kicks. Joining the Rogue & Rogue sport as a compact crossover, it will be coming to a Nissan showroom near you beginning in 2018.

Keeping the Crossover Cool

The compact crossover is the fastest growing section in car sales, and is also the most affordable. The 2018 Nissan Kicks will join the ranks with a bold style, with recognizable Nissan standouts: the V-motion grille and floating roof, as well as new two-tone color options. The exterior was designed for aerodynamic ability, which estimates its combined MPG at 33. With three different trims available (S, SV, SR), each at affordable prices, the Kicks is sure to turn heads.

Keeping Standard Features, well, Standard

The Kicks will will feature an all-around-view monitor, which is a newer addition to the Nissan lineup. This feature gives the driver a 360-degree view of the area around the vehicle, helpful especially for parking and driving in small spaces. If you get too close to an object on any side, front, or back, there will be an on-screen warning to alert you. Also standard will be these other top safety features:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning,
  • Automatic Emergency Braking, and
  • Blind Spot Warning.

A Smart & Stylish Interior

On the inside, the Kicks will feature the smart technology that Nissan is quickly becoming known for. This includes a 7.0-inch color display with features such as smartphone connectivity (ApplePlay and AndroidAuto) and the all-around view monitor. Also available is a premium Bose sound system. Behind the wheel, the driver will control which features they would like to see–including MPG numbers, playlist/music information, etc.
