2019 Nissan Altima

2019 Nissan Altima

The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima is here!

We’re excited about the launch of this all-new redesign of the classic Nissan sedan we know and love! From exterior, to the engine, to the interior–this Altima has you covered. To get you excited too (it’ll be here soon!), we wanted to give you our top-five things you need to know about the 2019 Nissan Altima.

Here are the top things you need to know about it:

Redesign

The new Altima has been truly overhauled for a sleeker, sportier feel. Check out this head-to-head comparison with the 2018 Altima:

2019 Nissan AltimaThis sixth-generation Altima now has a deeper Nissan-signature V-motion grille, a floating roof like others in the Nissan lineup, and sharper lines. In fact, the new Altima is 1.1 inches lower in height than previous models. It culminates to a very fresh makeover for one of the most well-known and well-loved Nissan models.

Smart Technology

The 2019 Nissan Altima is leading the way in its class with the addition of the available ProPilot Assist. This is available on the SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels. ProPilot Assist was included on 2018 models like the Rogue; read more about that feature here. Also available on these trims is the new Rear Automatic Braking (RAB). RAB helps the driver detect stationary objects when backing up, and, if necessary, will apply the break to avoid a collision.

Three features are standard on all trims:

  1. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
  2. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW), and
  3. Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA)

All of these combine to create a 360 safety shield around the 2019 Nissan Altima drivers and passengers, as Nissan continues to forge forward in vehicle safety technology.

Things the competition doesn’t have – that the Altima does

At the end of the day, how does it compare to the competition? Check out this video for a review on 5 things the 2019 Nissan Altima has that other sedans do not. For quick reference, these five things are:

  1. Available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive
  2. AVC Turbo Engine – the first production-ready in the world (see more information in the video)
  3. Standard Apple Car Play & Android Auto
  4. Concierge service – a free 3-year plan to order flowers, book a restaurant, reserve tickets, and more!
  5. 2 USB-C charging points, which is a newer port that is beginning to be used more regularly as it charges more quickly than a standard USB (but those are included as well!)

ProPilot Assist: Nissan’s Smart Technology

Thursday, September 13th, 2018

ProPilot Assist

Nissan is known for its great vehicles & smart technology, because of the strong belief that smart technology can improve driver and passenger safety. A fairly new Nissan technology advancement is known as ProPilot Assist.

How does ProPilot Assist help drivers?

This technology works like a really smart cruise control, helping helps drivers using cruise control to:

  • stay in their lane,
  • maintain an appropriate distance between cars,
  • keep the vehicle centered in the lane, and
  • stay moving or stopped as traffic dictates.

It was first introduced on the 2018 Rogue. These features can be operated easily by simply pressing a blue button on the steering wheel. It is primarily intended to reduce driver fatigue on long stretches of travel. You must keep your hands on the steering wheel, but can relax them, as well as your feet, as the the vehicle does most of the heavy work for you!

How to use ProPilot Assist:

Some of our team made the following video to help you see ProPilot Assist in action. Check it out & come by and test drive a new Rogue today to see this feature in action yourself!

Introducing: the 2018 Nissan Leaf

Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

2018 Nissan Leaf

The all-new 2018 Nissan Leaf is here, and it’s beautiful. Redesigned for greater range and power, it still remains the #1 affordable electric car in the world. This year, the list of new technologies is staggering. But it is all to improve the driver’s overall experience. Keep reading for more information!

Increased Range & Power

This begins with the range: the 2018 Nissan Leaf tops out at 150 miles! This is about 30 miles more than last year’s model. Also improved from last year is the horsepower–now at 147, a 38% increase and the torque at 236 lb/ft, which is a 26% increase. For those who (like me) need that put simply: the acceleration will feel smoother and more agile. The battery has also improved; without changing in size, it houses 67% more energy–to keep you on the road longer.

Redefined Style

Beyond the percentages, though, is redefined style. The exterior has been improved for both aerodynamics as well as appeal. It reflects the forward-progress attitude that Nissan has towards always improving this popular vehicle. Additionally, the signature V-Motion grille present on almost every vehicle in the Nissan lineup has been added this year to the leaf, showing a strong brand-alliance. This classic look is updated for the Leaf with the signature blue accent pattern (seen below).2018 Nissan Leaf

Smart Interior

On the inside, the “cool tech attitude” that the exterior sculpts comes alive. From the 7-inch full color display housing Navigation, Apple/Android connectivity, and a rear-view camera, to the smart gauges in the driver’s display taking the guesswork out of range–the Leaf has all the technology a driver needs. But Nissan didn’t stop there; they gave the 2018 Nissan Leaf the most intelligent driving features available.

2018 Nissan Leaf

The Leaf offers ProPilot Assist, which is a fairly new product that can help drivers stay in their lane, maintain an appropriate distance between cars, keep the vehicle centered in the lane, and stay moving or stopped as traffic dictates. In addition, standard on all trim levels is the e-Pedal. This is one pedal by which the driver can accelerate, brake, and stop. Simply release the pedal, and the Leaf will come to a complete stop without any need to press the pedal again. In rougher traffic, however, the traditional brake-only pedal is still available for drivers to use.

Coming Soon: 2018 Nissan Kicks

Monday, January 29th, 2018

2018 Nissan Kicks

In 2018, Nissan has announced its first brand-new model in 8-years: the 2018 Nissan Kicks. Joining the Rogue & Rogue sport as a compact crossover, it will be coming to a Nissan showroom near you beginning in 2018.

Keeping the Crossover Cool

The compact crossover is the fastest growing section in car sales, and is also the most affordable. The 2018 Nissan Kicks will join the ranks with a bold style, with recognizable Nissan standouts: the V-motion grille and floating roof, as well as new two-tone color options. The exterior was designed for aerodynamic ability, which estimates its combined MPG at 33. With three different trims available (S, SV, SR), each at affordable prices, the Kicks is sure to turn heads.

2018 Nissan Kicks

Keeping Standard Features, well, Standard

The Kicks will will feature an all-around-view monitor, which is a newer addition to the Nissan lineup. This feature gives the driver a 360-degree view of the area around the vehicle, helpful especially for parking and driving in small spaces. If you get too close to an object on any side, front, or back, there will be an on-screen warning to alert you. Also standard will be these other top safety features:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning,
  • Automatic Emergency Braking, and
  • Blind Spot Warning.

A Smart & Stylish Interior

On the inside, the Kicks will feature the smart technology that Nissan is quickly becoming known for. This includes a 7.0-inch color display with features such as smartphone connectivity (ApplePlay and AndroidAuto) and the all-around view monitor. Also available is a premium Bose sound system. Behind the wheel, the driver will control which features they would like to see–including MPG numbers, playlist/music information, etc.

Introducing: the 2018 Nissan Armada

Monday, January 8th, 2018
2018 Nissan Armada

2018 Nissan Armada

Nissan’s flagship SUV is designed for family adventures and fun, and has set the bar high for the competition. Each month in 2017, its sales have continued to exceed its sales projections. But for 2018, the bar just got set higher, with new standard features on all models, continued improved horsepower and towing, and–for the first time–an available new feature: Intelligent Rear View Mirror. Continue reading to see if the 2018 Nissan Armada is the right SUV for you!

New Standards Set

For the 2018 model year, formerly premium upgrades are now standard: including NissanConnect, Sirius XM Radio, an 8-in touch display screen, enhanced voice-recognition services, and extra USB ports for connectivity and charging on the go. In addition, the Armada set best-in-class horsepower among its rivals with its 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 and 7-speed automatic transmission.

New Intelligent Features

Nissan has been an industry leader in its development and implementation of safety features, including these frontrunners:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Intelligent Around View® Monitor

These work together to help drivers stay more alert, informed, and protected while driving. The addition of the Intelligent Rear View Mirror is the first of its kind. By affixing a high-resolution camera on the rear of the vehicle, drivers can switch out their traditional rear view mirror to a high-quality live feed. This is especially helpful if the seats (8 in total!) are full, or if cargo is blocking the mirror. Look at the difference this small detail, available at the flick of a button, makes:2018 Nissan Armada

Jaci’s Favorite Things: the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Monday, November 20th, 2017
2017 Nissan Pathfinder

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Newly-minted Dove-award winning artist Jaci Velasquez recently took the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum for a month-long test drive! It was her first time to drive a Nissan, and she was impressed by the many features that made her life as a busy mom easier. Read on to find out more of her favorite features!

A Smarter Back-Up Camera

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Many makes & models now feature rear-view or back-up cameras to help assist drivers; however, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder has a special upgrade.  Instead of simply having the camera at the back, Nissan added both more cameras with the available Around View monitoring system, as well as the Moving Object Detection system. The combination of the two means you can back up your car seeing all of your surroundings: front, back, and side. You can even be alerted to objects that you cannot see!

Family Entertainment Package

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

This might have been Jaci’s favorite feature! With the available Family Entertainment Package, you can let your kids in the back watch 2 different movies–at the same time! Think of how much easier family road trips could go. In addition to the two screens in the back, there is one up front, which houses available navigation and Bluetooth. This front screen will also play the selected DVD if the car is in park! Finally, staying connected is easy–with multiple ports for USB, AUX, and even one HDMI.

Hands-Free Liftgate

2017 Nissan Pathfinder

We’ve all been there: hands full of groceries or equipment, keys stuck in a bag, staring at the rear gate of our car, wondering how to open it. With this vehicle though, you don’t have to worry: simply wave your foot underneath the bumper of your Pathfinder (SL and Platinum). And, automatically, the lift gate will beep and rise!

Simple, luxurious, and easy to use–these three words define the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder experience. Jaci got to experience it for herself, and so can you!

Come see us at Newton Nissan, and find your Pathfinder today!

A huge thank you to Jaci for her review! Watch her full video here!

What’s New: The 2017 Nissan Rogue

Friday, March 31st, 2017

Hi! My name is Collin, and here are a few highlights of the new 2017 Nissan Rogue.

It’s what’s on the outside that matters, right?

Compared to the 2016 Rogue, the 2017 Rogue looks more modern with some “edge” in its personality. That’s because this crossover SUV is styled with modern LED lights, it struts a new fascia design (“fascia” is a fancy automotive word that refers to the front components like the grill, bumper, etc.), and it has an all-new wheel design.

The inside matters, too.

Inside, you’re given a new flat-bottom steering wheel. Ok, I know what you’re thinking. What’s so important about a flat-bottom steering wheel? The answer is two-fold. The bottom of a normal steering wheel is, you guessed it, ROUND. By giving it a flat bottom, you gain more space for your legs, which gives you more comfort while driving and more ease while getting in/out. Plus, race cars tend to have flat-bottom steering wheels, so that automatically makes you cool. This leather-wrapped beauty of a steering wheel isn’t just loved for its looks. It’s also heated. Just press the button, and your icicle hands will get all warm and fuzzy (or maybe just the warm part).

This SUV has a 2-person memory driver’s seat and mirrors. That means you can customize and save the position of the seat and mirrors for you and another driver. You save your preferences by pushing the “set” button, and then “1” (for driver 1). The other driver in your family would save their settings by pushing “set” and then “2” (for driver 2). From then on, if someone changes your seats or mirrors, all you’d have to do is press your driver number to get everything back to normal.

My favorite part of the 2017 Nissan Rogue is the remote start option. When you’re within 200 feet of the vehicle (ie: inside your house), you can start it with your remote, allowing your AC/Heat to do it’s magic before you walk out of the house. Don’t worry, even though your car is “on” while you’re inside, the vehicle will remain locked (unless you choose to unlock it), and it can’t shift into gear without your intelligent key inside the car.

These are a few highlights of the 2017 Nissan Rogue. To see it in person, feel free to contact us for a test drive!

Get to Know the Nissan Frontier

The 2016 Nissan Frontier is a midsize truck with a lot to offer. From its interior and available technology to its weight-bearing strength, the Frontier is definitely worth looking at! With the option of a crew cab or king cab, the Frontier can suit the needs of many. No matter what, there is plenty of space for passengers. There are many available trim levels for the Frontier. Different packages are available with each trim level, but all come standard with features such as a tire pressure monitoring system. Higher trim levels include perks such as NissanConnect with Apps, RearView Monitor, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, and Sirius XM radio. Not to mention, it comes equipped with a 4.0L V-6 engine that delivers 261 horsepower w/ 281 lb-ft of torque. The Frontier has a towing capacity of at least 3500 lbs, and with higher trim levels, can tow up to 6000 lbs! This midsize truck is ready for work or play. Take a look at the video below to decide if the Frontier is right for your next adventure.
