Student Wins Car For Good Grades At Newton Nissan Of Gallatin’s 9th Annual Student Car Giveaway

Samuel Robertson won a brand new car this June because of his good grades. He is a rising junior at Hendersonville High School, and didn’t have a car of his own — until now, thanks to both multiple A’s on his report card, and the kindness of Newton Nissan of Gallatin.

A special guest tonight was the very first winner of the annual contest, Paige Alcorn. Now married with one 6-month old son, she was happy to congratulate the newest winner of the contest.

The annual event, hosted by Newton Motor Group’s two Nissan dealerships, is open to all students enrolled in a middle Tennessee high school. Since the program started in 2009, Newton Nissan has given away twelve cars to students in the Nashville area.

The grand prize was a 2019 Nissan Versa, valued at $13,375. “Newton Nissan pays for both the car and sales taxes, so the winning students don’t have to pay anything for their new cars,” says Mike Abbondanza, Newton Motor Group’s Co-Owner. Students enter the contest by bringing in their report card from the most recent school year. Students increase their chances of winning by making good grades, since they receive one entry per “A” on their report card.
